Whether you are a professional jewellery designer or just a beginner, we have a course for you. We explain essentials and teach you to understand light as designers do and draw from your mind, not coping from the picture.
Jewellery hand painting techniques the great maisons have used for centuries.
Taught online, step by step.
We are happy to welcome you at Draw Me A Jewel - online jewellery illustration school.

The honest answer is — it depends on your jewellery preferences. Here's how to think about it.
Are you drawn to gemstones?
Coloured stones, diamonds, intricate settings, pavé — gouache is your technique. It is precise, luminous, and capable of capturing the depth and brilliance of a stone better than any other medium. It is also the technique used in jewellery for centuries by the greatest maisons. Start with Drawing Gems.

From there, Painting Metals and Painting Pavé complete the picture. You can also choose a complete Gouache bundle with all 3 courses and save 200.

Are you drawn to form and volume?
Bold shapes, solid metal, architectural jewellery — if your work is more about the object than the stone, Sketching Jewellery will serve you better as a starting point. Dynamic perspective sketching brings volume to life on paper in a way that feels immediate and confident. It is a powerful tool for design research, presenting sculptural work to clients and an essential skill for every jewellery designer.

Drawing Gems Foundation and Sketching Jewellery together give you the complete foundation — one introduces you to gouache, the other to volume and perspective. They were designed to complement each other, and together they address different aspects of the same practice. Many of our students work with both — sketching for design development, gouache for final presentation. The more fluent you are in both, the more complete your visual presentation becomes. If you feel committed to learn, start with a Jewellery Illustration Start package and get both for the better price.
